Happy New Year!

We hope you bring in the new year tonight with family and friends. Remember to be safe and sleep in tomorrow as Wee Care Daycare and Preschool will be closed January 1, 2013.  We will be open Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

We wish all our parents, children, teachers, and families a safe and very merry Christmas.  Please remember that Wee Care Daycare and Preschool will be closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. We will see you on Thursday, December 27th!

Happy Halloween

St. Jude Trike-a-Thon

Don't forget that this Friday, August 24th is our annual St. Jude Trike-a-Thon.  Wee Care's 2-5 year olds will be riding their bikes to raise funds to help the children of St. Jude Children's Hospital.  Remember to send their bikes and helmets and come help us cheer them on. They can hardly wait!  Thanks for all your donations thus far.  Each day we get closer and closer to reaching our goal.

Congratulations to our graduates!  Jaedon, Pouneh, Aaliyah, and Jackson are all off to kindergarten next year!  Great job!  Enjoy your graduation Luau today. We will miss you.

Picture Purchase Day

Tomorrow, May 15th, you will be able to view your child's photos that were taken two weeks ago.  Teddy Bear Photography will be at Wee Care Daycare and Preschool between 4pm -6pm to help you view and purchase photos. Your child will get a free t-shirt just for having said "cheese" and having had their picture taken.  You can customize your purchase by sheets and only buy what you choose.  I can't wait to see our composite.  I love hanging yet another year of our kiddos on the wall. This makes year 11!

Happy Mother's Day

To all of our mothers who either teach at Wee Care or drop their very special children off at Wee Care everyday as they go off to work or school......May you enjoy a very relaxing day with your families as they express their gratitude to you for all your hard work and efforts day in and day out.  Moms are amazing! Welcome New Baby Christopher!

Michael is a big brother!  We are so glad Christopher Andrew has arrived and mom and baby are doing well.  Michael looks like he has adjusted quite nicely. Congratulations.  We can't wait to welcome him to Wee Care!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Finals will be over soon

Today is the end!  College finals will be over soon!  Congratulations to all our parents and Wee Care teachers who studied so hard and completed another semester.  Our parents who are professors......hang in there.  All your grading will be over soon.  I hope everyone can enjoy a wonderful weekend and watch the Derby!

We have been studying butterflies for a week now.  Ms. Kei Kei's preschool class has a butterfly kit where the children have been studying the life cycle of a butterfly.  This morning, when everyone arrived, our caterpillar(larva) that was hiding in a cocoon (pupa or chrysalis)...... had become a butterfly!  How exciting! Talk with your child tonight about the life cycle of their very own butterfly!

Childcare Council Family Night

Our Childcare Council of Kentucky is the proud recipient of a PNC grant to educate our youth about finances. They are hosting a family night May 31st. We will be teaching the children about saving, spending, and giving during our "money" unit in a few months at Wee Care Daycare and Preschool. However, this is a great introduction and opportunity to learn about it and enjoy free pizza and prizes with the whole family. Click on the link below for more information!

UK Student Activities Board would like to announce:

Limestone Block Party

Come one, come all to our block party extravaganza on Friday, April 20th! This event will conclude our spring festival, “The Big Finish” in a grand way! We will have kid-friendly inflatables and activities to enjoy. Sponsored in part by the South Limestone Association of Merchants, the great local restaurants are excited to present specials this evening! Join us from 6 – 10 on South Limestone Street from Avenue of Champions to Maxwell Street to celebrate springtime in the Bluegrass with music, food, and fun activities! Attendees can look forward to Repicci’s Italian Ice, Bluegrass Kettle Masters and Honnah Lee’s Bubble Tea as well.

Parking: Public parking will be available in parking structure #5 off of S. Limestone, beginning at 6 pm and ending at 1 am. If attendees choose to arrive early and park in this structure before the event, they will not be charged if they choose to leave the structure between the hours listed above.

Bathrooms: We will be providing Porto-Potties on-site for the public’s use.

The spring weather and strong storms are upon us. Just wanted to remind everyone of our emergency policies. We practice our fire, tornado, and earthquake drills monthly, so our children know just what to do if there is an actual emergency. We do have a basement, so all our children will be downstairs in their "turtle" position if we have a tornado warning. Please know that your child is safe. If you want to come pick up your child or if you want to come weather the storm with us (if our facility is safer than your workplace or home), that is fine too. Just please use caution when choosing to drive to get your child. We do not want you to put yourself in harms way. If there were ever to be a real situation where our building was not safe (an actual fire or disaster), our "safe place" is across the street at Maxwell Elementary. The principal has agreed to allow us to use their building if ours was ever deemed unsafe after a natural disaster. I am ready for spring flowers and lets skip the severe showers!

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Can't believe it is time already for KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION! The dates and times are posted in the front hall at the daycare, however here they are again:

February 13th through March 9th ---- 9am to 2 pm

February 13th Evening Registration ----4pm to 7pm

April 9th through April 26th-----9am to 2pm

April 9th Evening Registration -----4pm to 7pm

June 12th through July 17th (Every Tuesday 9am to 2pm)

July 23 through August 15th ----- 9am to 2pm

We will miss our little ones as they move onto Kindergarten, but we know they are well prepared and will come back to visit!!

The Federal Tax ID number is located on the top right hand corner. That should be all you need for your taxes. Let me know if you have any questions.
